I ICQ'd Essobie and closed the continuing thread we had going, and that Ebonics speaking fella filtered me in his email proggy, and lost the nerve to keep slingin mud. So it appears the war may be over... for now... However, I will be keeping my eyes peeled for another war brewing... it's soooo fun :)
A VOTE FOR DINGLES
Here's part of an email I got from Rea1m encouraging the continuation of things. It's nice to see that someone actually took the time to write, now I wonder about the rest of you.... I know Rea1m isn't hitting my site 40 times a day... :P
Just thought I'd drop you a line and say love the site. Don't change a thing...only, you should start a flame section where you post all those flames you've been gettinalong with your replies. Its about time someone stopped blowing smoke up the asses of those hosts who attempt to write about a community that they wouldn't lower themselves to joining. Once you take that first comp trip to check out the latest from id or some other company you'll never be the same.

Consider the meaning of that statement, it can tell you alot about yourself. Do you see it as saying, you can be 100% certain of something happaning, then it dosen't cause there is no such thing as something meant to be, such as destiny. Or do you view it more severely, the future holds one thing, NOTHING. As in the only thing meant to be is NOTHING.

I've been in a flame war recently, and this one takes the cake....
You see, this only comes from those who are stupid, narrow minded and self

This is very strange. AND, I found four Quake II development pics which you can view HERE. Also on that ftp backdoor I found eleven MP3's.... ahem, bad Disruptor.. bad.

KINGPIN DEMO.{12:45 PM EST}
Oh boy, the Kingpin demo is out this weekend! W00T! I was kinda halfway following this game, with the dozen others till Rine started talking about it, so I looked a little closer... And it looked good, real good. I'm a little sketchy of those purty graphics after the Daikatana demo, and it being 100 MB, but I'll say, and game with huge amounts of violence and profanity must be ok ;P
GOOD BOOKS {1:00 AM EST}
If you want to learn anything computer related, I'll gladly suggest a line of computer books to you, THE VISUAL QUICKSTART GUIDE. These books cover pretty much any area of computers, have nice pics to showyou what they are talking about, and are easy to use. Hell their HTML book helped me to snazz up this site... :)

Think about it, everybody is doing their own thing, trouble is accepting it. Hell, I don't expect folks to just say "cool man, that Quake is killer, you're cool," of course some folks will think my Quake trip is stupid (they must be stupid) so why should I blame some fool for not accepting my trip? Same on both ends. For instance, those Jehova's Witness's that bang on your door at 8 AM, before you rip their lungs out, consider this, they're on their own trip. Hell I might have just figured out how to promote world peace... :P

Q1EDGE.{2:00 AM EST}
Lately I've been really getting into playing Quake I, I love the fast-paced action. And I recently reinstalled both Mission Packs to play them again, I think I am in love with Quake single player. So when I heard that id has released a Quake I converted Q2DM1 (the Edge) I was elated. I downloaded the Q1EDGE map and fired it up with the Reapers... Oh yeah, I like it. The BEST Quake II DM level, but playable in the fast-paced Quake world.... One thing, not sure if I like the teleporters, ruin the conversion and make a different game. Used to be Rocket Jumping could allow awesome surprises and moves here, now any lamer could just teleport and the good players can style like the original... Sigh.. If folks keep trying to 'balance' games to make them fun for all skills and connections it may end up that we just walk around and throw flower petals at each other... Thinking of Myst...
NEW HERETIC II ENHANCEMENT PACK.
Looks like I'll have to buy Heretic II soon, with all the new improvements in the new Enhancement Pack, most notably the 'first person POV.' Now you can be in the eyes (ala Quake, Quake II) and not third person, I was a little sketched by the idea of playing third person DM. Now I have no excuse.. 
THRASHING THE UNDERBELLY.
Essobie, of RA2IO decided to fire some defensive emails at me about his host PQ. Now I like Essobie, but as many folks who know him know, he thinks he is the smartest man on earth. I mean we're talking omnipotent here. He has it all figured out in HIS world, so I'll let him stay in it. However, I'll have to quote myself from my return email in regards to the PQ types that have no clue about the Quake community since it fits into this section so well:
"I can't recall the last time I saw any PQ freak on a public server, or fools like Thresh either, they are more apt to play on their local LANs, then write about the commmunity they don't even lower themselves to slum in."
#27 THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF WOMEN. THE TYPE THAT STAB YOU IN THE BACK, AND ONES WHO DON'T HAVE KNIVES.
The trick is to keep the knives out of their hands, that is give them nothing to stab you with. If you don't 100% trust and respect the female in question yet, don't go giving her secrets and telling her how you really feel, it can be used as the knife to stab you later. However, if you do feel that you trust her 100%, then by all means open your back up, it's the only way to really build a solid relationship, however... if you're wrong.... In slips the blade.

THRASHING THE UNDERBELLY. {12:00 AM EST}
Introducing a new section, which will be an editorial/flame/rant section about everyone's favorite(?) monolith, PlanetChump. This all encompassing giant has lost it's direction in it's 'assimilate the masses' philosophy. They've become a place to go to get news about... them. News about their Beatdown, their history, their 'Mod of the Week', their favorite maps... etc. For those of you who recall the late, great Slipgate Central, you know what a Quake site should be, Quake news, Quake files, Quake everything. So far from their so called vision, PlanetChump has become much like a small business that suddenly became a corporation, forgetting the community that spawned it, forgetting the purpose for it's exsistance, forgetting all but itself. Thie section will begin to show the hollowness, the lost vision, the forgetting of the reasons they exist: Quake, and those that play it.

To kick off this section (which will be updated whenever the venom rises :) ) I'll post a few examples of PQ's hosted sites that are gathering much dust. It's so easy for them to say 'look, we host all these Quake sites', but closer inspection shows that many of these sites are dead pages, with broken links, outdated content. But first, here's one of PQ's hosting requirements:

'Stale sites will be removed from the network.' What, after three years? I read PQ's 'History Of PlanetQuake' article a little while back (I couldn't refind it on there new hyped 'Gamespy Search' crap) and they stated the purpose of forming PlanetQuake. They said "....after seeing so many good sites go under, we decided we could start hosting them to keep these great sites alive.." (quoted from memory :) ) Well, all they are doing is keeping the sites up, even though they are dead, kind of like keeping grandpa propped up in the corner after he's been dead a year... And they consumed the remnents of the late great Slipgate Central into their growing collective, which killed one of the best Quake sites out there. Where will it end? With every site absorbed, and all Quake news filtered through the 'do they kiss our behinds?' filter? Seems that way already. Thank God for Blue posting news of actual relevence, Telefragged and Nofadz for hosting, and all the alternative sites out there that still know what being 'IN' the Quake community is like, instead of sitting it's fat behind on it.
NEED HOSTED?
Don't bother with PQ, they expect you to bow and kiss Bastard's feet to get in, drop a line to Fadz and see what he thinks...
And FYI, currently I do this site ALL BY MYSELF.
