HELL ON EARTH (11:30 AM EST)

Troubles.... Gah, first the spring forward somehow molested my tweaked Litestep setup, and I had to do some reinstallation... The a fire broke out two blocks away and caused a power outage... I stepped outside to gawk and locked myself out of my apartment and had to break in.... When I awoke this morning, with the power back on I realized I had no other choice but to reinstall Win95.... *SIGH*.. However, on a lighter note, since I flashed my Bios last time, my Win95 install and setup is far more stable and fine-tuned.... So, I'll be updating later this afternoon after I get everything properly back in order.... :(

SIN VERSION 1.04 (12:50 AM EST)

Well, another version, with CTF stuff too... Maybe I'll get around to playing Sin again.... I was hardcore about it when it came out, then saw how shitty it ran (like Win98, maybe worse) out of the box. I haven't gotten around to doin it yet... maybe this time.... :)

THE MATRIX

QUAKE II TRICKS

Here's a couple tricks that make online gaming pretty smooth, but lots of folks don't know.....

#1 Use TAB to complete commands. Example: Type 'sen' in the console, hit TAB and it will finish the line as 'sensitivity'. This saves time and helps when you can't remember those gl_??? commands.
#2 In relation to #1, to see what value you have a command varible (cvar) is set at, type the command, and hit ENTER. Example: You type 'sensitivity', hit ENTER, and it will then show what your current sensitivity is set at. Good to help get those settings down to see what works for you.
#3 The'condump' command. This command will dump the contents of your console to a text file in the current mods directory as you name it. Example: Type 'condump moses' and a text file will be dumped in your current mods dir named moses.txt. You can then read it with any text editor. Very helpful when folks say funny stuff, or their ICQ#, or a cool URL.

Heheh, I played a joke on myself..... Nobody else got it.... :) I forgot to change the dates for the past couple days, and had all my days one day behind. I had yesterday's day set as Friday instead of Saturday.... Hehhehe, I'm dumb, but nobody seemed to notice, so you're all dumb too..... :P

SATURDAY, APRIL 3, 1999

TFC DELAYS (12:50 AM EST)

Well in true fashion, the TFC will be delayed again.... First the original TF2 for Q2 was delayed, then became a Half-Life add-on, then a stand alone game, then come TF Classic.... And, another dely... sigh.... When will it end?
The Bad News:
    - TFC isn't going to release today. We have to do simultaneous releases in all languages, and we haven't finished QA on the
    international versions. Once that finishes up, we're going to do final acceptance testing on all the different language versions
    for 24 hours, and then release. I'll let you know as soon as that 24 hour clock starts.

    The Good News:
    - There will be a new map in the release, called Push. We were going to keep this a secret until the release went out the
    door, but in a desperate attempt to reduce hate mail, I'm going to try to buy you off with this information.
    - The Team Fortress Classic review in today's issue of 'USA Today' gives Team Fortress Classic 4 out of 4 stars, calling it
    "incredible" and "spectacular", and saying it "rocks"!
    - Remember, Team Fortress Classic will be the BEST FREE GAME you've ever played.

THE MATRIX

Ok, Rine and I saw The Matrix today.... WOW Special effects rocked, action rocked, plot rocked, the chick rocked. THE MOVIE ROCKED! I'll describe it in this way, take the concept of the world from a Buddhist prospective, add a computer twist and action, and you have The Matrix. ie, I liked it. :)

STAR WARS SECRETS....

After posting his 'inside info' about the Phantom Menace, Scott Miller (President Apogee Software) updated his .plan with this: Okay, most people didn't bite on this, BUT most people (over 100+ emails) thought it would

This one is very cool, it gives detailed instructions on HOW TO BUILD A STORMTROOPER COSTUME. It will cost you a few hundred, but you make it yourself, and they look just like the originals. Man, I need to get a better job so I can sit around my house in Stormtrooper armor.

STAR WARS SECRETS (3:35 AM EST)

Scott Miller (President Apogee Software) updated his .plan with this: The Phantom Menace: Cool news...

One of the producers working on the Duke Nukem movie has seen a pre-screening of the
coming Star Wars epic, and told me about something too cool to not reveal (look the other
way if you do not want to spoil a big surprise):

Harrison Ford has a cameo, playing none other than Han Solo's father! We get to see the
building of the Millenium Falcon, Han's father's ship (who names it during the movie). I
also
heard that it's planned in the next movie that the ship ends up in Lando's possession, and
in
the third movie it's back in Han's possession.

CORRECTION

Vooddo Chile informed me of a Mellissa mistake... It targets MS OUTLOOK, not MS OUTLOOK EXPRESS. So..... As I said, TAKE THAT MICRO$HAFT!!! Heehee, I don't care what it targets as log as it is MS-based... :)

REQUIEM FIX?

Devon sends word that there's a new MS Winblows Update to update DirectX 6.1. He tells me he had the same troubles, and that it fixed it. Well, my DX 6.1 update won't install... :( So, I'm outta luck for now... SIGH.

HOW TO BEAT UNCLE BILL'S WINBLOWS UPDATER

You know how the damn thing works, pick the files, it downloads them and installs them in one move. Winblows Update allows you no access to the download, so you have to repeat the step everytime you want to reinstall one of the options. You can't just click the installer, cause you never actually had the file... Got a solution.. Get Getright (a download proggy that can resume downloads) and fire it up, then when you click on the 'DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL NOW' link in the Win Update dialogue it'll snag the URL. Then you can download the specific file seperatly, and install as you please. Did it tonight with a couple other updates.

Started playing single player Half-Life again after seein Rine play the intro... damn him...... Hope I can resist it's addiction. Wearin my Half-Life t-shirt right now, and listening to the MP3's of the Half-Life soundtrack... :)

Going to see Matrix tomorr...er...today. Every damn .plan file tells me I must... So I will... :) Hear it kicks MUCH ass.

My Voodoo3 will be in on Monday :) To hell with the TNT, I want FRAMES dammit! Bsides, so tired of multiple cards as I have now, the V^3 is all-in-one, 2D, 3D... Woohoo.
