| LAG AND RAILS PART II |
| Played on a server tonight, with the same lag troubles. I noticed a trend, I can play for a while with no troubles, hell I was pinging a almost solid 170 on this server, then after a bit it began. Factors: Time and more players. I suspect a altered setting in my cfg's etc of heating up my V^3 too much. Looking into it, any other V^3 owners out there? (Shut up Rine). |

| THE GOOD LIFE (4:30 AM EST) |
| I'm a waiter as I may of mentioned, and today I waited on the best table ever. It was two beautiful girls, who were VERY COOL, and they told me they worked at a bar (three blocks from my house) and told me to come down and they'd buy me drinks. They also left me a HUGE tip. So I went down there, and they bought me evey beer except one (I bought one for me and a pal), and they told me they'd be quitting that job to go back to their old job.... as strippers. This is no joke. I got a huge tip, and was bought beers by a of couple strippers. Furthermore, it turns out they know a girl I know, who was Rine's old roomate (she lived here, in this very apartment) that they stripped with, and they'll be calling me to get her address and stuff.. Funny how this happaned after yesterday's Dingleberry. Life may have meaning... :) |

Something went whacky with my computer last night, and I was being
PING-RAPED hardcore. Here's a shot of my netgraph during a lag fit:
Ever see anything like that? Man it was insane, from 170 ping to 9000 pings in seconds.... However, while not laggin bad, I got my second ever 'two kills in one Rail shot' kill. Here's a clip from the console: 
Man I was on fire last night, too bad I was a victim of ping-rape. Way believes it was motivated by my increasing my Graphics Apeture size in my Bios for my V^3. Still got some testing to do, there's been some serious storms bl;owing through here, maybe it is a culprit. |

| COMPUTER/STEREO (1:45 AM EST) |
| Anyone know a good setup for hooking your computer
up to you stereo? Currently I have a line out from my soundcard (headphone
jack) that I hook in with stereo jacks to my video line in on my receiver.
I want to record sounds from my computer onto tapes, and know there must
be a better way to get good sound, but am a stereo retard when it comes
to computer/stereo integration... Any ideas?
BTW, where'd you all go? One day I suddenly got half the normal readers..... Help me out here, does my breath stink? :P |
| VOODOO^3 OVERCLOCKING |
| Sharky over at Sharky
Extreme has a V^3 overclocking tutorial up, andI'll tell you, they
work :) I gained close to 10 frames by adding a couple lines and overclocking
the chip a mere 5 MHZ. I'll be doing more testing with old setting revamped
for the V^3. Check out Sharky's V^3 OC article HERE.
And here's a copy of the settings I'm currently using in my Q2 autoexec.cfg.
I tested each one individually to see the results.

| Well, I got it.... Currently I'm actually getting a few less frames per second then my Matrox g100/Voodoo^2 combo, but considering it's using it's earliest drivers, hardly tweaked, and only taking up one slot.. I like it. A couple cool things: I turned cl_lights on, and improved the visual quality a bit, and had no loss of performance :) I ran the crusher demo with a high quality cfg, cl_lights on, and at 960x720 and got 31 FPS. So I would say the Voodoo^3 and I will be close friends. |

| It rocks, yes indeed. It is almost TF exactly, except for Half-Life, The weapons, sounds, maps, everything. I played for a while today, had no lag, and had a freaking blast. I HIGHLY suggest this puppy. |
