Yesterday was a news feeding frenzy, today is a news starvation day. I'm setting up more .plan files to get the poop on some other games (and some non-fps). I'm adding a Vengence Section, which will list ways to get even for some of lifes daily annoyances. This will not be updated daily, just whenever I get an idea, or someone sends me one.

- Tray Command Line
For you shortcut retards and hotkey folks there a proggy which adds a bit of GUI to the hotkey proocess:
For example in TrayCL you can assign the "w" alias to MSWord ("C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE"). Then, to start Word you would simply press Ctrl-Space and type "w" into TrayCL window that pops up.

- VENGENCE
You know those stupid magazine order forms that fall out of magazines? There are sometimes like ten of those suckers in there. Here's what you do: Mail them (scribble some stuff on it so the mailman doesn't toss it for being blank). Postage is already marked as 'Paid' which means if you mail it, they have to pay for it, also their mailroom has another piece of mail to go through. A double whammy (careful may get you in trouble) is to mail it to someone you dislike marking the 'bill me' box. Then they'll start getting magaziines, and bills. Note: You might do this yourself since you can get a few issues free then write and say 'I didn't order this.'

Ads In Bills:

Fabric Softener:
My wife uses fabric softener. I never knew what that stuff was  or.  Then I noticed women coming up to me (sniff) 'Married'  (walk off). That's how they mark their territory. You can take  off the ring, but it's hard to get that April fresh scent out of your clothes.

- Window$ 98 SE Bug (Hahahhahahahahahahahahaha) (12:40 PM EST)
Well already a huge oversite on Micro$hafts part has allowed this schoolbus sized bug to wander through quality control (as if they have any).

SYMPTOMS: Windows 98 Second Edition may hang when the machine is being suspended.

CAUSE: The name of the swapfile used by Windows 98 can be changed by adding a PagingFile= line to the 386Enh section of the System.ini file. If the path specified for the swapfile includes a lowercase drive letter, it can cause Windows 98 Second Edition to occasionally hang during a suspend.

RESOLUTION: Change the lowercase drive letter specified for the swapfile path in System.ini to uppercase.

STATUS: Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. (well no shit)

- TRIBES 1.5 Patch
Another month, another patch ;) Fixes:
    - Server security bug involving the server menu has been fixed (version 1.4.1)
    - Loading multiple players onto a single vehicle slot is no longer possible.
    - Fixed a problem with inventory stations not clearing the active user.
    - NT 4.0 DDHelp crash fixed.
   - A timedemo function was added to playback a demo and calculate average framerate.
    - Fixed a problem with a containment test which would allow players to jump from vehicles into the solid region of an interior.
    - Fixed a problem with gun retraction against vertical surfaces which would allow players to shoot grenades and mortars through ceilings.

- Uncompressor 99
Here's a cool tool for Winders, Uncompressor 99. You ever download like ten Quake mods (maps, skins, etc) at once and have to open each zip seperatly and extract? Pain in the arse right? Well uncompressor allows you to open mutiple zips (in multiple directories) in one session and extract them all at once. Cool. - Aliens Versus Predator
Got this game yesterday, wow is it cool. Each chacracter has it's own strengths/weaknesses,  but overall the Predator is my favorite. He's like this huge badass assassin. The Alien is cool, you can climb across the ceilings and move so fast that they are dead before they see you coming. Some cool features:

* Three species classes (Predator, Alien, Colonial Marine) that each have there own single playe games.
* Realistic sounds, images, actions straight out of the movies.
* Ten different multiplayer modes: Species War, DM, Predator Fox Hunt, more...
* Two CD's, one with data, one with tunes.
* Cool cinematics foir each species.
* More...

All in all this game rocks, its scary at times, but very cool. But there are problems.... My system is an AMD K6-2 350 with 192 MB SDRAM, and a Voodoo^2 (Voodoo^3 going back in as soon as new Mandrake 6.0 arives). This by far exceeds the requirements, but my cinematics are choppy as hell, and sometimes the pictures locks for a second or totally. Anyone have this game and had this problem?

- Homeworld Beta Test
Rine's been there and done that. If you get accepted DO NOT CHOOSE TO HAVE THE CD SENT! Rine got his CD weeks into the beta test program and found himself playing folks that have been at it for weeks. Choose the download option. I played it and it BSOD'd me everytime on the combat training mission. It's not a combat game, it's a stratigy game, kinda like a crossbetween Starcraft and Descent  (graphically).
