* AVP Adding A
Savegame Feature
Well I can't say I am surprised,
this game is hard. You get little instruction as to where you need to go,
and the missions are longish so dying at the end sucks when you'll have
to replay the whole damn level. I have almost beat it on the Alien (the
most fun to play IMO), but have spent HOURS working on it.
We have received a lot of feedback from our consumers on both sides of this issue. Some gamers enjoy the suspense and excitement of this game without the option of hitting the save button. On the other hand, we understand the frustration of some players who are used to an "in game save" feature available in this type of game," said David Stalker, Producer, Fox Interactive. "The 'save patch' ultimately takes care of this debate."
Check here for AVP news and
for the patch when it is released: http://avp.telefragged.com/
They also have a utility
(right now) that lets you play any level with any species :) I'd love to
play the Alien on the other species levels, it adds alot of reply value
to the game.

* The Whole Poop
On Raven's Voyager
Chris
Foster's .plan file has been updated.
Lead
Designer, Project 3 Raven Software
Ah, the joys of less than perfect communication!
In order to clear up a few items regarding our game, I felt it was necessary to update my .plan file today.
First off...you play the Game as Alexander Munro, a security specialist aboard the Voyager. A member of an elite force of away team operatives, Munro will be called upon to defend the ship and its crew from the dangers in a hostile environment. Trapped in an artificial pocket of space by alien beings, Voyaer is disabled and beset on all sides by ruthless scavengers as well as the race which has them trapped.
He will explore many areas on Voyager, (yes even the mess hall...), as well as numerous alien craft also trapped within the pocket.
The game will be a single-player affair, with Holomatch options; including Deathmatch, other team games and possibly Multiplayer Co-operative missions outside of the regular single-player game.
Munro will have a number of weapons at his disposal throughout the game, some Federation tech...some not.
Holomatch will basically be a Holodeck generated combat stage with the ability to fight other players and score as if running a training exercise. When a player is 'killed' he is transported back to the command staging area to reset himself, re-arm and then 're-spawn' (i.e. randomly be transported back within the playing area).
As an aside, what do you all think about the idea of 'Siege' type missions for Holomatch?
Hope this answers most of the questions I got.
And No, you are not going to be able to play as Tuvok in the game, sorry! Possibly in Multiplayer, but not in the single-player game.
Also...for
a more concise definition of the Hazard Team (the 'elite force' mentioned
earlier) as well as a synopsis of the characters, see Mike Gummelt's .plan
file later today!
Mike
Gummelt's .plan file has been updated.
Programmer,
Project 3 Raven Software
I've seen a few interviews and previews of our game Star Trek: Voyager on the net and some of them have a few things wrong, so maybe we should be talking about this game more than we have been.
Here's the general concept of the game:
Since Voyager is pretty much alone, with no chance of getting any re-enforcements (aside from the stray interstellar hitchhiker or two they've picked up), Tuvok has decided to personally train some specialists to hand the assignments that have the potential to be the most dangerous encounters and hazardous of conditions.
You play a member of the Hazard Team, an "elite force" of security personnel each cross-trained with specific skills. There's the team leader, the scout (you), the demolitionist, the sniper/scout (your love interest), the medic and the technician. Plus plenty of "redshirts". As the game progresses, you character becomes more and more important in both duty and in the plot.
While you don't actually play any of the main characters, you will interact constantly with the main characters of the TV show in a series of in-game cinematics and even on a couple of the missions. The plan is to have the actors from the show do provide the voices for their characters.
The idea for the gameplay now is to have the missions have a variety of gameplay styles, some pure action, some more focused on teamwork, some stealth, and a couple you're pretty much on your own. Each mission will be a few levels and between each mission there are the main cinematic events on Voyager where you see the progression of the story and your character's development in respect to his importance and his relationship with the other team members and crew. There are also in-game cinematic moments in the game at key points of gameplay.
The game has a strong plot and well-developed, well-defined characters, both from the show and newly introduced in our game. At the same time, the gameplay is exciting, fun, and innovative. I honestly think people are going to have fun watching the story unfold as well as going through the missions and blowing stuff up!

for when you've downloaded bunches of maps/skins since you can open and
extract them all in one session. Read more and download the new version

- Generations
Killed
Sadly this mod has passed
into legend... *BOWING MY HEAD*
From
the first message Friday, I knew what id's response would be. I hoped otherwise,
but I knew the corporate standpoint to such an issue. So, from the moment
I read that
message,
I realized that the future of Generations would go one of these two ways.
Which way it went was up to me. Although I considered the two, the right
choice was clear
from
the beginning.
Ladies and Gentlemen: The Generations Project is officially terminated.
I've
read that sentence time and time again from various imposters on the message
board, but this time, and this time only, it is the truth. Generations
is officially cancelled.
There
will be no Version 1.0. The things we've been working on will not make
it to the final version. There will be no final version. Generations is
no more.
