Collins stop- the show was mindbending as expected. I arrived late due to various things, not the least of which was a large pile of fungus coursing through my blood stream. I walked in to see the boys thrashing through "Rip Van Winkle", a song I certainly didn't expect to see, but 'twas nice nonetheless. Then they did a slightly sped up "Piss on A Rope", quickly followed by "The H.I.V song" (with much audience participation) and a beautiful "The Mollusk". Their stage lighting was very impressive under my chemically altered vision, and I think I saw god somewhere between "Dr. Rock" and "Awesome Sound." truly awesome awesome sound-it lasted at least 20 minutes. Other highlights include a frantic "Push Th' little Daisies" (crowd went fucking wild) and "The Blarney stone" (a truly awe-inducing moment- beer bottles aloft and the whole deal. somewhat disappointing ending- deaner said 'O.K, were gonna do heavy metal now- that's what we do when you're not paying attention." then they did some heavy metal jam thing I didn't recognize. Oh did I say they did A tear for eddie? they did and truly righteous it twas too. Many long solos and free form improvs. a beautiful night for da boognish indeed.
