Just returned from the last US Ween show for a while, here in LA at the El
Rey. This was the fourth time I've seen the boys and man, what a great
show it was. I mean, my first show was great, and the other two kinda
sucked, so I was getting scared. BUT, this show topped them all, coming in
at over three hours! Yahoo!
I don't know if any of you were there (I was wearing my black Residents
shirt: eyeball with tophat, of course), except for Kristyna, but I don't
know what you look like.

The funniest part was when they ended a song and Gener went to fiddle with
something on the side, and when he returned, the rest of the band had left
the stage. Not wanting to leave (and realizing the others weren't
returning anytime soon), he picked up his guitar and did a solo Little
Birdy, which was bizarre.
Deaner made the greatest faces during his solos and whatnot. The new
members on bass & keyboards were incredible.
And Claude....oh Claude. A drummer as amazing as this deserves a shrine.
One of these days I WILL shake his hand, for he is truly a master.
And that was that. Glad I got to go. Thank you Ween, for an incredible
night. Have fun in New Zealand. Our paths will cross again.

Fuck me. I am at an utter loss. I just got in.. Its like 4:30 am... Its
like a 2 hour drive.... from la to san diego... and I am so in awe...
Tonights show was beautiful... I was like 6th in line.. got me a spot right
up front and stayed there all nite... It was un fucking believable... I had
such a great time... fuckin dean was hysterical with all of his crazy faces
and he kept sticking his tongue out... he was right in front of us..
nothing but me then a stage then them.... I can't remember the set list to
such detail like lenny could but some songs that were out of this world
were Buenos tardes amigo, tear for eddie, blarney stone, take me away...
they just jammed and jammed.... Deaner broke a guitar string on his regular
guitar at first then not to long after broke the neck on the other
guitar.... it was crazy.... Some dumb asses got up and danced on stage and
tried to sing in the mic which soon led to me getting pissed caused then
they put a fat ol bouncer right in front of us.... argggghh... ! owell...
Aaron and Mick got down in the front and sat down and played to us.. they
were like right fuckin in front of us... it was killer... we had a camera
that we were so sly about bringing in and took pics from the very front.. I
will let ya all know if they come out worth a shit...
So the show just rocked and rocked and rocked ..... I can tell you more
about it in detail when I can see hear and breathe again in the next day or
two.... BEST PART THOUGH ........ After the show was over Claude came
down on the side of the stage and was kinda talking to a few people... so I
got up close kinda pushed my way past a fat ol bouncer and shook hands and
said! hey claude.... I am kristyna from irc.. and he totally knew who i
was.... we talked for a few... and let me in on some secrets I can't quite
divulge in the post... maybe another one..... BUT I said... hey.... can me
and my good friend Jamie come back at meet the boys and he said suuuure!
So I grabbbed his hand... and he took us back stage.... upstairs into this
tiny little fuckin room packed with people... first thing I fucking do
besides talking to the keyboardist.... was get a glass of orange juice and
macked down on some fresh fruit... we hung out up there for like and hour
or so... Dean was fuckin smashed it was so funny.... the bassist is a
really funny guy... totally nice..... Someone made this giant boognish
chocolate chip cookie the size of a poster.... it was awesome.. some girls
on drugs were there... some bitziatches also.... a really nice guy i met
from Omaha... but he lives in La.... was there also... some kid drinking
beer who looked to young to be drinking ween's budweisers....
I talked to Roger the manger.. he was awesome.. such a nice guy... I got
the back of my Ween country tour shit signed..... gene wrote.... Gene ween
loves you on it... too funny... dean scribbled on it... and claude wrote
his name in big letters across it.... also have some pics of that stuff..
I can't wait to get the pics developed!!
I am SO sorry to ramble on and on about this.. but this was such a killer
nite I have to share it with you all... Anyways.. when i remember some
more cool shit I will post it.... by the way tshirts were only 12 bucks
such a fuckin bargain..... :) Hey lenny.... I was there.... were did you
sit or stand?
