Deaner's birthday began at midnight, so the boys thought they
would start the festivities a little early. Keep in mind that the
Showbox has three bars running at all times, so Dean orders up
a bottle of "juice". A stagehand eagerly runs up with a fifth of Jack
Daniel's. Dean gulps down like a panhandler fending off DTs, using
Bud chasers. Madness ensues. The highlight of the show was the
D man's drunken gibberish rendition of "Blarney Stone".
He was so plowed he forgot the words. The man could still play
guitar though, constantly badgering the sound tech for a louder mix.
For a time I thought he was channeling Lynard Skynard. Overall it
was a damn fine show.

Kids. I saw Ween last night at the Showplace Theatre in Buffalo and in a
coupla' words. It rocked. Surprise surprise. Ween came on about 9:10 and
played til roughly 12:45 and god damn it was great. Both Gener and Deaner
were totally smashed ('specially Gener) and were chasin' the Jack with Buds
all night long. Claude and the rest of the band were keeping up too. At one
point Deaner brought out a ticket stub he had in his pocket and complained
about the Sabres beating the Flyers and called Hasek a "commie". Funny
shit. I guess he was there when the Flyers lost the series. Gener looked
pretty fucked up. I couldn't believe how long they played, by the end
Deaner was sitting on the support for the kit and he looked like he was
going to pass out any minute. Gener was still goin' though and he played
Sarah and Fluffy alone for the most part. The place was packed and If I had
to guess I'd say there was aboot 600 people there. I'm not sure though.
The band musta had about five or six meetings in the middle of the show. I
don't know if they were picking out their songs or just shooting the shit.
I was totally amazed how long they played though. When I saw them in
Toronto for the "Country" tour they didn't play nearly as long. Even with
Stu. Thankfully there was almost no moshing and I only saw one guy body
surfing. They played a nice cross section of their albums and as far as I
can tell this was their setlist. This is not in order for the most part
although I think I caught all of the songs. As far as the personal
highlights? I'd have to say Old Queen Cole, Sketches of Winkle, Now I'm
Freaking Out, and the Blarney Stone. Deaner was improvising for the last
verse and was hammered. Of course 20 min of L.M.L.Y.P always rocks.

Hey there!
I just got back from seeing Ween at the Showplace Theater in Buffalo, NY.
It was definately the most incredible show I have ever seen! They played from
about 8:15pm to 1:00am!! There was no barrier between the stage and the
crowd, so I was only about a foot away from Gener all night! They played
everything from Baby Bitch, to Piss up a Rope!!! The guys even played a Black
Sabbath cover, and a Van Halen cover...what a night!!!! Do you know if they
will be playing on the east coast again any time soon???

THIS WAS MY FIRST WEEN SHOW AND IT WAS FUCKIN' GREAT. IT WAS AT
THIS SHOW WHERE I SAT AT THE BAR DRINKING LABATT'S BLUE, MORGAN & COKES, AND
WHISKEY SOURS, UNTIL I FELT THE URGE TO STAND WITH THE WEEN BROTHERS ON EACH
SIDE OF ME. VAN HALEN'S "HOT FOR TEACHER" WAS WHAT THEY WERE PLAYING AT THE
TIME WHEN I DECIDED TO CLIMB UP ON-STAGE TO HAVE GENE'S (MAYBE DEAN'S) MIKE
RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY, LIGHT'S FLASHIN', CROWD SCREAMIN'.
IT WAS MY TURN TO SING AND I BELTED OUT "I'M HOT FOR TEACHER". THIS
ONE WILL DEFINATELY GET PUT DOWN IN THE BOOKS. I WAS THEN NICELY ESCORTED FROM
THE STAGE DIRECTLY TO THE SIDEWALK OUTSIDE. THIS IS WHEN I MET SOME KID AND HE
WANTED TO GO BACK IN, TOO, SO WE WALKED IN AND THE GUY SAID "NO WAY" BUT THIS
KID, BLESS HIS FUCKIN' FUCKIN' SOUL, SAID HE JUST WANTED TO GET DRUNK AT THE
BAR OF SHOWPLACE AND WE WERE BACK IN 2 MINUTES AFTER I WAS THROWN OUT. WEEN
KICK FUCKIN' ASS AND TO TOP IT OFF GENE RIPPED OPEN THE WINDOW SCREEN IN THE
UPPER FRONT OF THE THEATER AND THREW OUT A FUCKIN' PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LATER.........
