I saw WEEN in Hollywood..
I tell you they were very good....
05-02-96 THURSDAY HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM, HOLLYWOOD, CA.
The HIV Song, Spinal Menigitis, VOoDOoLAdy, Stallion Pt.3, Dont Get Too
Close to My Fantasy, Piss Up A Rope*, I Cant Put My Finger On It,
Marble Tulip Juicey Tree, Tribute song for Genesis**
* this is a new song from the all COUNTRY LP that comes out in July.
** this was the end of the set and they said it was a song in tribute to
the band Genesis that they had wrote cause they said they heard Genesis
was breaking up... it sounded alot like "Dont Sweat it" and went on for a
little while then busted into a epic guitar solo which ended when all the
guitar strings were broken and laid to rest on the amps causing great
amounts of beautiful feedback....
this show was just Gene and Dean & the Machine... they are back to a 2
piece band and plan to stay that way for a little while...

I saw Ween open for the Foo Fighters in Pullman, WA back in April. It
was rad because all the dumbfucks who came to see the Foo Fighters
wouldn't dance to Ween, so me and my girlfriend got to stand about 15
feet away from them. Some Frat brat kept yelling for Ween to hire a
drummer and boy, Ween tore that guy up. Then they played Let Me Lick
Your Pussy to piss everyone off. Gene said, "It's time to put on our
dancing shoes here at Ween." They kept asking us if we were ready for
some tight shit. They proclaimed each new song to be "As tight as
Hootie, " or "dave Matthews." Here's the song list.
Feedom '76
Voodoo Lady
Piss Up A Rope
Fat Lenny
Spinal Meningitis
LMLYP
some weird song not off any of the five albums
What Deaner etc.
AIDS
Just thought I'd share my experience since no one here in Moscow, ID
cares.

...RULE!!!
in response to those who saw ween at the palladium last night. yes,
they were awesome. the destringing the guitar thing, the overtuning or
whatever, was massive.
foo fighters were good too. ween was called on by dave g. and dean
sang and gene played along with foo fighters on "freedom of '76". the crowd
seemed to really get into it. later dave g. stated that "i wish we
could write a song half as good as ween can." i think he was being serious.
tsk, tsk to those in the audience who were heckling ween (not those
giving them the bird -- how ingenious, ween cannot ever know if they are
being worshipped or dissed). i do think many were converted at the end.
is it me, or did gene ween take the "chocolate and cheese" thing too
seriously?

This show fucking rocked... it was really fun and they (Aaron & Mickey)
were in a much better mood than the show I saw on Thursday...Probably
because it was the last show of thier stint of the tour and they were
gonna get to go home now...
